Reliance Jio has once again hoisted its flag. The country’s largest telecom company has left the world’s biggest companies behind for the third consecutive time. For the last 9 months, Reliance Jio has been ahead of Airtel, China Mobile, China Unicom and Vodafone Idea in terms of mobile data traffic. International consulting and research company Tefficient said that Jio’s mobile data traffic has grown by 24 percent year on year.
Mobile data traffic increased rapidly
According to the report, mobile data traffic of other telecom companies such as Airtel has increased by 23 percent year on year. At the same time, China Mobile’s mobile data traffic has increased by only 2 percent year on year. In its X post, Tefficient said that Jio has left all the telecom companies in the world behind in terms of mobile data traffic for the third consecutive quarter.
Jio suffers loss in this case
However, the number of subscribers of Reliance Jio has decreased in the last three months. Especially after mobile plans became expensive in July, Jio has lost 11 million i.e. about 1.1 crore users. The company’s userbase was 489.7 million in the quarter between April and June, which has come down to 478.8 million in the quarter ending between July and September. At the same time, the number of Jio’s 5G users has increased tremendously.
The company has acquired Rs 148 million i.e. Rs 14.8 crore in just two years. Jio is the world’s largest 5G operator outside China. According to the report, every Jio user is consuming 31GB data per month. At the same time, the company’s average revenue per user (ARPU) has also increased by 18 percent.
BSNL users increased
BSNL has done the biggest work of breaking into the user base of Jio. The number of users of the government telecom company has increased by 55 lakh in the last few months. BSNL has added 30 lakh new mobile users in July and 25 lakh new mobile users in August.
