star link

star link Satellite Internet service may soon be launched in India. Telecom regulator (TRAI) will soon allocate spectrum for satellite communication in India. For this, things will be finalized by 15th December next month. This satellite internet service of Elon Musk has increased the tension of Indian telecom operators Airtel and Jio. Musk’s company had applied to start its satellite internet service in India in October 2022. Apart from Starlink, Jio, Airtel, Amazon and Vi are also in the race to launch their satellite internet services.

Starlink’s satellite internet service is currently live in many countries of the world. In this service, users can make calls even without any mobile network and SIM card. Besides, users will also get the facility of high speed internet. Elon Musk’s satellite internet service will be different from the satellite internet services of other companies. Also, users are likely to get better internet connectivity.

How does Starlink work?

Most satellite Internet services are provided by a single geostationary satellite, which is located at an altitude of 35,786 kilometers above the ground surface. Due to its high altitude, the latency of this satellite is very high, which makes streaming, video gaming and video calling etc. almost impossible, that is, users have to face a lot of difficulties in accessing the internet.

More than 40 thousand small satellites

At the same time, Starlink satellites are present at a height of only 550 kilometers from the ground. Users’ devices continue to get connectivity from these satellites present in lower earth orbit, due to which there is low latency and there is no problem in accessing the internet. Elon Musk’s company has launched around 42,000 tablet-sized satellites in lower Earth orbit, which help in internet connectivity and better network coverage. However, apart from Starlink, satellite internet services like Airtel OneWeb, BSNL-Viasat and Amazon Kuiper also work in lower earth orbit.

This way you will get internet connectivity

Starlink has used thousands of small satellites instead of one big satellite. To use Starlink’s satellite service, the user has to install an antenna, which captures the signal coming from the satellite and provides Internet access. According to reports, Starlink’s satellite internet service allows users to access internet at speeds up to 150Mbps. Users can access internet at this speed without any interruption. Also, users will be able to make calls even without any mobile network and SIM card.
