Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that Israel has settled its score with the person who carried out the worst massacre in the history of our people after the Holocaust.
Netanyahu said the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was “a crucial moment in the fight” to return hostages in Gaza. He also said that anyone who surrenders weapons and assists in the return of hostages would be allowed to leave Gaza safely.
He also said, “Our war is not over yet.” Israel’s military said on Thursday that its troops in Gaza have killed top Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
Sinwar was the main conspirator of the attack on Israel last year, after which a fierce war started between Hamas and Israel. Sinwar had been at the top of Israel’s most wanted list since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war, and his killing is a major blow to the terrorist group. Hamas has not yet confirmed Sinwar’s death.
