Cairo: Israeli forces intensified the bombardment of the Gaza Strip on Thursday. Israeli tanks have once again started rapidly entering the colonies of northern Gaza. The Israeli army has ordered the immediate evacuation of people from there. 10 people have died in Gaza in the latest Israeli attack. Fearing this, a new wave of displacement has arisen from Northern Gaza. Now Palestinians fear that they will not be able to return here again.
At least 10 people were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a school for displaced families in the Shatti refugee camp in Gaza City, Palestinian health officials said. The Israeli military said the attack targeted the Hamas command center inside the compound, which previously served as a United Nations-run school. It accused Hamas of exploiting civilian facilities for military purposes, which the group denies.
Stampede broke out as soon as Israeli tanks entered
As soon as Israeli tanks entered the residential areas, a stampede started. Dozens of families began fleeing as Israeli tanks advanced into Beit Lahiya. After about a month, Israel has again started attacking northern Gaza. In such a situation, Palestinians have started reaching schools and other shelters in Gaza City to escape with whatever goods and food they could bring. One displaced person said drones hovering overhead were broadcasting evacuation orders, which were also broadcast on social media outlets and in audio and text messages sent to residents’ phones.
Israel is bombing everywhere
The displaced said that “after displacing most or all of the people in Jabaliya, now they are bombing everywhere. Killing people on the streets and inside their houses. To force everyone to move out.” Palestinian officials say Israel is carrying out a plan of “ethnic cleansing” and that no aid has arrived in Jabaliya, Beit Lahiya or Beit Hanoun since the operation began on October 5. It says it was forced to evacuate Jabaliya on Wednesday and begin clearing nearby Beit Lahiya to combat Hamas militants, who it says have regrouped there. The Israeli military denied press reports that the displaced would not be allowed to return to northern Gaza.
