PM Narendra Modi US Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Indian diaspora at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island on the second day of his three-day US visit. Grand preparations have been made for this mega event of PM Modi to be held in Long Island, New York. About 14,000 people are expected to attend this program. The PM’s program has been named ‘Modi and US: Progress Together’. The organizers say that this program will showcase the close relations between India and America, the warm relationship of the American-Indian community. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the Indian diaspora about this event.

Biden and PM Modi met

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi met US President Joe Biden on Saturday. Regarding the meeting of the two leaders, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the two leaders, who met on the sidelines of the Quad summit, discussed ways to further deepen bilateral partnership in areas of mutual interest. He said, ‘The leaders exchanged views on global and regional issues, including the Indo-Pacific region.’

Biden welcomes PM Modi

Biden welcomed Modi at his residence in Wilmington, Delaware, and the two leaders hugged each other. Biden then took Modi by the hand and led him inside his residence where bilateral talks were held. Biden said on ‘X’, “America’s partnership with India is stronger, closer and more dynamic than at any time in history. Every time we sit down with Prime Minister Modi, I am very pleased with our ability to find new areas of cooperation. Today was no different.”

How does China view the Quad?

PM Modi is accompanied by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra. The US delegation includes Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs T H Jake Sullivan and US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti. Modi, who is here on a three-day visit to the US, has also held separate bilateral meetings with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The four-member Quad advocates maintaining a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. China sees it as an adversarial group.

Indian expatriates welcomed PM Modi

Earlier, a large group of Indian expatriates welcomed PM Modi at the Philadelphia International Airport upon his arrival in the US. Modi greeted the group of people dressed in traditional attire, many of whom were holding the Indian tricolour. He walked through the security cordon, gave autographs to some of them and shook hands with others. “The Indian community has made its mark in the US and has made a positive impact in various fields. It is always a pleasure to interact with them,” the Prime Minister said.
