Kazan: Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a dinner organized for BRICS leaders on Tuesday night. Both the leaders were seen shaking hands warmly on the occasion. During the dinner, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also seen enjoying a music concert with other leaders. Let us tell you that Chinese President Xi Jinping was also seen at the dinner. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping are also going to meet on Wednesday. In view of the current global circumstances, the entire world is eyeing the meeting between the two big leaders of Asia.

There was a conversation between PM Modi and Putin

Earlier, during his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Russia-Ukraine conflict should be resolved peacefully. He said that India is ready to provide all possible cooperation to resolve this war peacefully. PM Modi held bilateral talks with Putin hours after his arrival in the Russian city of Kazan to attend the 16th BRICS summit. In his televised opening remarks, he told Putin that India “fully supports” the early restoration of peace and stability in the region.

This is PM Modi’s second visit to Russia in 3 months

On this occasion, PM Modi also said that his second visit to Russia in the last 3 months reflects the ‘close’ coordination and deep trust between the two countries. He said, ‘We are in constant touch on the issue of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. As I said earlier, we believe that problems should be solved peacefully. We fully support the early restoration of peace and stability. All our efforts give priority to humanity. India is ready to provide all possible support in the times to come.

PM Modi and Putin also met on 9th July

Let us tell you that in the summit meeting in Moscow on July 9, PM Modi had told Putin that the solution to the Ukraine dispute is not possible on the battlefield. A few weeks later the Prime Minister went to Ukraine. In his conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, PM Modi had said that Ukraine and Russia should sit and talk to end the war without wasting any time. He had then also said that India was ready to play an ‘active role’ in restoring peace in the region.
