Our cooperation as two democracies is important not just for bilateral relations but for the entire Global South. Blessed with numerous rivers, waterfalls and lakes, Guyana is known as the ‘Land of Many Waters’. Just as the rivers of Guyana are a part of the cultural identity of the people here, similarly the great rivers of India like Ganga, Yamuna and Brahmaputra have been the birthplace of our ancient civilization. There are many examples of similarities between India and Guyana that further deepen our historical ties.

These progress must be made to reduce the gap and poverty and bring the world together… India is supporting new technology innovation and PM Modi reminded us in CARICOM that you are a member of this CARICOM family. We want you to know that we consider you as a member of this CARICOM family… This was a bilateral meeting that was different. It was a meeting of minds, an exchange of ideas and a commitment to help each other overcome challenges.
