This year has not been good for Boeing
Aviation giant Boeing had hoped that due to the 737 Max problem in 2024, its problems would end in 2023. But just days into 2024, an Alaska Air Boeing 737 Max 9 jet lost its rear door plug-in mid-flight. Although there were no injuries in the incident, the entire 737 Max 9 fleet was grounded. Things went from bad to worse for Boeing in March, when John Barnett, a former quality control manager turned whistleblower, was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
Starliner spacecraft launch
The 2024 deal with Boeing was far from over, as in June the company once again made headlines for the wrong reasons. After numerous delays and budget overruns, Boeing finally launches its Starliner space capsule into space for its first manned mission. However, due to technical issues, NASA refused to allow Boeing to return its crew to Earth on the same Starliner, leaving Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore still stranded on the ISS.
India won bronze medal in Olympic hockey
Cricket was not the only sport that delighted Indian fans in 2024. Due to Vinesh Phogat’s unfortunate disqualification at the Olympics, the men’s hockey team brought some joy by winning the bronze medal by defeating Spain 2-1 in Paris.
India won the Cricket World Cup
2024 was a memorable year for India as the Men in Blue won the T20 World Cup. Team India defeated South Africa to win the World Cup, which was also the last match of some of India’s greatest cricketers of all time.

For millions of Hindus in India and around the world, 2024 got off to a great start as the Ram temple at the site of Lord Ram in Ayodhya was consecrated, fulfilling a dream of several generations.

2024 also saw the world’s most eagerly watched election. The US presidential election was won by Republican Donald Trump.
Elon Musk becomes even richer
2024 was a great year for Elon Musk, who tasted success with many of his ventures. Musk also ‘invested’ heavily in Donald Trump and after the Republican victory in the US presidential election, the Tesla CEO’s fortune reached an all-time high.
Ukraine annexed by Russia
In the more than one and a half year long Russia-Ukraine war that started in February 2022, something unimaginable happened in 2024. Ukraine invaded parts of Russia’s Kursk Oblast in August 2024. Despite Russia’s efforts, Ukraine has managed to maintain control of Kursk while losing the war on other fronts.
