Ajit Pawar liked PM Modi's slogan 'Ek hai to safe hai', has problem with Yogi Adityanath's 'Batenge to katenge'
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek hai to safe hai’ slogan, but opposed Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Batenge to katenge’ slogan, calling it different from Maharashtra’s ideological heritage. He also claimed that his nephew and now rival candidate Yugendra Pawar is not interested in politics, and does not even like to live in Baramati. Supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election slogan ‘If we have one, we are safe’, he said that if India remains united, it will be safe.

Ajit Pawar said there is nothing wrong in that (slogan), I don’t see any issue here. If we stick together everyone will prosper. However, he expressed disagreement with the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s statement that “If you divide, you will be cut”. He again said that the comment ‘if we will cut then we will cut’ is inappropriate. People’s thinking is different in UP, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, but such statements do not work here. In my opinion, use of such words has no significance in Maharashtra.

Pawar said that Maharashtra is the state of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Shivaji Maharaj. People of Maharashtra are different, and they think differently. If anyone leaves the ideology of Shahu, Shivaji, Phule and Ambedkar, Maharashtra will not leave them. On the Sharad Pawar-led NCP fielding his brother’s son Yugendra Pawar against him in the family seat of Baramati, Ajit said his mother had urged the senior Pawar to avoid competition within the family.
