Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has expressed grief over the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, calling it an irreparable loss for the country. According to Gehlot, Singh’s tenure as Prime Minister will also be remembered for the beginning of rights-based politics. Singh died in New Delhi on Thursday. He was 92 years old.

Gehlot wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “The demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji is an irreparable loss for the country. Dr. Saheb had a simple, gentle and honest personality.
The former Chief Minister wrote, “Manmohan Singh ji has made a huge contribution in India’s economic development, strengthening the economy and establishing India as an economic power in the world. As Finance Minister, he took a big step like economic liberalization which gave a new direction to India.
He said that during Singh’s tenure as Prime Minister, Rajasthan got special support due to which the state got a big gift like Pachpadra Refinery. “Your tenure will also be remembered for the beginning of rights-based politics,” he said.
Gehlot wrote, “Your journey from an ordinary background to becoming an economist, Governor of the Reserve Bank, Finance Minister, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and the post of Prime Minister is inspiring for everyone. You will always be remembered Dr. Manmohan Singh ji.
