In a significant blow to the terror infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, a joint operation led by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police was successfully conducted in Poonch sector based on intelligence inputs. The operation conducted on 18 October resulted in the capture of two terrorists. They were identified as Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain. Security forces also recovered arms, ammunition and grenades from the suspects, hampering their operational capabilities.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Jammu division Anand Jain said that the arrest of Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain from Hari village is a ‘huge achievement’ for the security agencies. On Friday, police along with 37 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a joint operation and nabbed Aziz, the ADGP told reporters in Poonch. Two hand grenades were found from him. He said that during the investigation, another hand grenade was found from his house. His accomplice Hussain was also arrested with a pistol, a magazine and nine cartridges.
