Bihar: PK made former Deputy Army Chief its candidate for by-election, increasing the tension of Nitish-Tejashwi.
Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishore has played a big bet for the upcoming by-elections in Bihar. According to the information, the party has made former Deputy Army Chief (retd) Lieutenant General Krishna Singh its candidate from Tarari assembly constituency. This announcement was made during a conversation with the media at the party’s camp office in Patliputra Colony, Patna. While Kishore mentioned that the names of the other three candidates would be revealed soon, Krishna Singh’s selection indicated the party’s strategy of fielding high-profile candidates with distinguished careers.

Former Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Shri Krishna Singh (Retd) said on his candidature that I will serve the people wholeheartedly. People told him (Prashant Kishore) to bring me so that the situation improves. If they have so much trust, how can I break it? I have to come. He said that we do not see the opponent, we only see our target and we have to win. Our objective is very pure, our image is clean. Lieutenant General Krishna Singh, a native of Tarari village, is a graduate of the National Defense Academy (NDA) in Dehradun and has served in the Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army.
Inspired by Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Singh dedicated 41 years of service to the army before retiring in December 2013. He later served in the Armed Forces Tribunal for four years, holding a position equivalent to a High Court judge, before retiring in 2017. He said that I want to work for my home district and state and am committed to promote clean and healthy politics in Bihar. I want to bring leadership experience to the benefit of their local community.

When questioned about the Agniveer policy introduced by the NDA government, Singh expressed his disapproval. He highlighted that the 17-year tenure under the previous policy allowed soldiers to connect deeply with their regiments, inculcating a strong sense of spirit, passion and values. He expressed concern over whether the shorter tenure of four years under the Agniveer policy could foster the same level of commitment and spirit.
