BREAKING: Taking a big decision, the Bhajanlal Sharma-led government of Rajasthan has canceled the formation of 9 out of 17 newly created districts. Rajasthan Cabinet, out of 17 new districts formed in the previous government of Ashok Gehlot, has kept 8 districts as they are and has canceled the formation of the remaining 9 districts. After this decision of the cabinet, a total of 41 districts will be left in the state.
Bhajan Lal Cabinet has canceled Dudu, Kekri, Shahpura, Neemkathana, Gangapur City, Jaipur Rural, Jodhpur Rural, Anupgarh and Sanchaur. Out of the 17 new districts created in the Gehlot government, the Bhajanlal cabinet has kept 8 new districts as they are. These districts include Balotra, Beawar, Deeg, Khairthal-Tijara, Didwana-Kuchaman, Kotputli-Behror, Phalodi and Salumber. In such a situation, Rajasthan will now have 33 and 8 districts respectively, making a total of 41 districts. 3 divisions have also been cancelled. With this, there will now be 7 divisions in Rajasthan.
Decision based on the committee report – Jogaram Patel
After the state cabinet meeting, Law Minister Jogaram Patel said that ‘keeping in mind all the circumstances, our government has decided on the basis of the committee’s report that we will not keep these new districts that have been created. These districts are not needed right now. There is no need for even three new divisions.
Patel said that the government has taken this decision after considering all the aspects to streamline the administrative system and make it effective and to make Rajasthan prosperous and developed.
Gehlot government had created 17 districts and 3 new divisions
It is noteworthy that the previous Ashok Gehlot government had issued notification to create 17 new districts and three new divisions. Along with this, three new districts were announced but its notification was not issued.
Patel said there was no discussion on cancellation of police sub-inspector (SI) recruitment exam in the cabinet meeting. He said that the Cabinet has decided to reorganize Panchayats, Panchayat Committees and District Councils in the state.
