Amravati: The Supreme Court on Friday directed to set up an independent SIT to investigate allegations of use of animal fat in making laddus offered at Lord Venkateshwara temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Welcoming this direction of the Supreme Court, YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said on Friday that now Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should apologize to the people. He said in a press conference that by canceling the SIT constituted by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, the Supreme Court has exposed the ‘real picture’ of Naidu.
‘Naidu should say that he has made a mistake’
Jagan Mohan Reddy targeted his rival by showing some social media posts of Telugu Desam Party i.e. TDP and said, ‘When the Supreme Court has made such remarks, if he (Chandrababu Naidu) has any faith in God, then he should People should apologize. He should pray to Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy and say that he made a mistake. They did not do anything like this, rather they (TDP) are issuing posts (spreading misinformation) through their Twitter handle. Jagan Reddy said that the Supreme Court has also quashed the SIT appointed by Naidu on the issue of adulteration in laddus.
Naidu welcomed SC’s decision
The Supreme Court, along with constituting a 5-member ‘independent’ SIT to investigate the allegations of use of animal fat in making Tirupati Laddu, made it clear that it will not allow the court to be used as a ‘political battle ground’.
