Eight coaches of a train going from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh derailed between Motiganj and Jhilahi railway stations.

One more person has died in the train accident that took place on Thursday in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, due to which the death toll has increased to 4. Let us tell you, eight coaches of a train going from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh had derailed between Motiganj and Jhilahi railway stations. Three passengers had died in this accident, one died today.

Northeast Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh said that eight coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Weekly Express train derailed between Motiganj and Jhilahi railway stations on the Gonda-Gorakhpur rail section in the afternoon. District Magistrate Neha Sharma had earlier confirmed the death of four people in this accident. State Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak had said that four people had died in this accident.

Relief Commissioner G.S. Naveen Kumar had said that 30 of the injured had minor injuries while five were seriously injured. 25 of them are being treated at the Community Health Centre in Mankapur, while five are being treated at the Community Health Centre in Kazidevar and three seriously injured people are being treated at the District Hospital. Two injured were referred to Lucknow but one of them died on the way. He said that there were 23 coaches in the train. Eight of them had derailed.
