Political parties in Maharashtra are gearing up to win all the 288 seats in the state. One of these seats is Islampur seat. Till now this seat has been in NCP’s share. In such a situation, it will be a tough challenge to defeat the current MLA Jayant Patil from here.
After the start of Maharashtra Assembly elections, all the political parties are gearing up to win 288 seats in the state. Voting on all these seats is to be held simultaneously in one phase i.e. on November 20 for all 288 seats. These votes will be counted on November 23. One of these seats is Islampur seat. Till now this seat has been in NCP’s share. However, now NCP has become two parts. One part of which is with Sharad Pawar and the other with Ajit Pawar. At present, NCP party president Jayant Patil is the MLA from Islampur seat.
Know who is the candidate
This time too, Sharad Pawar’s best candidate and NCP party president Jayant Patil has contested from Islampur assembly seat of Maharashtra. To challenge Jayant Patil, NCP Ajit Pawar faction has made its trusted leader Nishikant Bhosale Patil its candidate. Jayant Patil held this seat for the last 15 years. In such a situation, defeating Jayant Patil will prove to be a big challenge for Nishikant Bhosle.
What is the history of the seat?
From 1978 to 2019, not a single candidate from Bharatiya Janata Party or Shiv Sena has won this seat. In such a situation, winning this seat can prove to be a tough challenge for Mahayuti. Congress party won this seat in the years 1978 and 1999. In the elections of 2004, independent candidate KP Patil won and then in the years 2009, 2014 and 2019, Jayant Patil retained this seat by winning the elections continuously.
