Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar on Friday said the Mahayuti allies are still in talks on 11 of the 288 assembly seats for the November 20 elections in the state. Pawar said that 10 percent of the seats allotted to his party will be kept for minority candidates.

Both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) and Congress, are making massive efforts to win the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. The BJP is a key member of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which also includes Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
