Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) President Sharad Pawar addressed election rallies one after the other on Tuesday in support of his grandson Yugendra. Yugendra is contesting against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and his uncle Ajit Pawar on Baramati seat.
Addressing a gathering at Shirsuphal in Baramati taluka of Pune district, NCP (SP) chief Pawar said the contest for the Baramati Lok Sabha seat earlier this year was tough as it was fought between members of the Pawar family.
Former Union Minister Pawar, referring to the contest between NCP (SP) candidate Yugendra Pawar and NCP President Ajit Pawar in Baramati in the assembly elections on November 20, said that now, after five months, the people of the area will see the same situation. .
In the Lok Sabha elections, Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra was pitted against sitting Baramati MP Supriya Sule, making the contest Pawar versus Pawar. Sharad Pawar had held several election meetings and sought support from voters for his daughter Sule. Supriya Sule had won the election.
