With the current two arrests, the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested a total of eighteen people in connection with the murder of the NCP leader. Earlier on Wednesday (November 6), Mumbai Crime Branch had arrested 23-year-old Gaurav Vilas Apune from Pune after his alleged role in the case came to light. Talking about the details regarding the arrest, an officer said that he (Apu) allegedly had information about the entire plan being hatched to kill the NCP leader.

Mumbai Crime Branch on Thursday (November 7) arrested two more accused in the gruesome murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai early last month. According to the information released, both the accused (who have not been identified) have been arrested from Pune, Maharashtra and it is being said that they will appear in the court today. He has been arrested over his alleged connection with another accused Praveen Lonkar, who is said to have supplied him with around 50 pills. Police said details about his role were being investigated.

The officer said his name cropped up for the first time during the interrogation of some of the arrested accused. He gave details about his involvement in the conspiracy to attack Siddiqui. He was also promised a handsome amount of money for his role in the conspiracy, the officer said. Apune was trained in the use of firearms by some absconding accused.
