Rahul Gandhi summoned by Lucknow court
A local court in Lucknow has summoned the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on January 10, 2025, in the case of alleged insult to revolutionary Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Rahul Gandhi is accused of creating enmity and creating goodwill among the people by making mischievous statements about Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Therefore, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will be prosecuted. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Alok Verma has passed this order against Rahul Gandhi on the criminal complaint filed by local lawyer Nripendra Pandey. In this case, the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (III) Alok Verma issued an order on Thursday, summoning Rahul Gandhi as an accused and ordering him to appear on January 10, 2025.

Complainant Nripendra Pandey said in his complaint, ‘On December 17, 2022, during his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference in Maharashtra. During this, with the intention of spreading enmity and hatred, he described the great leader of nationalist ideology, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, as a servant who took pension from the British. The complainant further accused Rahul Gandhi that before the press conference, pre-printed pamphlets were distributed to the reporters for the purpose of humiliating Savarkar, which is a proof that pamphlets were pre-printed against Savarkar in a planned manner. Court summoned Rahul Gandhi
Let us tell you that Rahul Gandhi is accused of making unrestrained allegations against Veer Savarkar. The order issued by the court said that the complainant had filed a complaint in this case against Rahul Gandhi in June 2023, which was dismissed by the lower court. An application was filed against this in the Surveillance Court, which on October 3 this year considered the complaint maintainable. The order states that the court is of the opinion that by his actions, Rahul Gandhi has spread hatred, animosity and enmity in the society which is punishable under section 153-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (regardless of religion, caste, race, place of birth, residence or Spreading enmity between different groups on the basis of language) falls under the category of crime under section 505 (spreading rumours), hence there are sufficient grounds to summon Rahul.
