The Railway Ministry on Wednesday said that amid the festival rush, Indian Railways is making every possible effort to ensure safe travel of passengers and avoid any untoward incident.
“Transporting people from one place to another across India during Diwali and Chhath is a challenging task, but after successfully completing similar tasks during Navratri and Durga Puja, the Indian Railways Railways is now all set to help passengers reach their native places for Diwali and the upcoming Chhath festival.
It also urged passengers to inform the Railway Protection Force (RPF) if they spot any suspicious object on railway premises using the designated helpline 139 and ‘Railmadad’ portal.
The statement said the RPF has implemented robust security measures to ensure safe and uninterrupted rail travel for lakhs of passengers. According to the Ministry, the awareness campaign of RPF in collaboration with various stakeholders of Railways includes distributing pamphlets, displaying attractive posters, performing attractive street plays and broadcasting public announcements.
