Rajat Sharma's Blog | India-Pakistan: If you want to improve relations then stop terrorism

Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of India TV.

Within 100 hours of the formation of the new government in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists opened fire indiscriminately and killed seven innocent people. In the dark of night, the terrorists targeted the camp where migrant laborers live. People from Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar are among the victims of terrorists’ bullets in this attack. Shahnawaz Dar, a doctor from Kashmir Valley, who used to go to this camp daily to take care of the workers, has also died. The responsibility of this attack has been taken by a Pakistani terrorist organization called The Resistance Front. This is the changed name of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The attack that took place was carried out by two to three Pakistani terrorists. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the attackers will not remain alive for long, the security forces will bring to justice those who shed the blood of innocents. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have given a reply to the terrorists in the elections, people want development and they will not let the development work be stopped at any cost. Dr. Farooq Abdullah gave a direct message to Pakistan, saying that Pakistan should not do such things otherwise it will have to face consequences. Now NIA has started investigating this matter.

TRF Chief Sheikh Sajjad Gul is said to be behind the attack. NIA had placed a reward of Rs 10 lakh on Sajjad Gul in 2022. According to security sources, Sajjad Gul, along with his three associates, Salim Rahmani, Saifullah Sajid Jatt and Basit Ahmed Dar, had been doing recce of Ganderbal area for a long time. He wanted to gain fame by carrying out a major attack and this attack was carried out for this very purpose. During the last one year, terrorists had carried out sporadic attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Workers from Bihar and UP were targeted in separate incidents. In June, nine people were killed in an attack on a bus, but such an ambush on a camp of migrant laborers engaged in a major project has happened after twelve years. This clearly means that Pakistan is upset with the victory of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. The development that is taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, railways, roads, bridges, tunnels are being built, work on these projects is going on at a fast pace. Pakistan wants to stop this pace of development. That is why this attack was carried out with the intention of scaring the workers.

Pakistan will have to pay the price for its nefarious actions. Just three days ago in Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif was talking about friendship with India. He was reminding of Imran Khan’s mistakes but Nawaz Sharif will have to understand that until Pakistan Army stops sending terrorists to India, until ISI stops giving shelter, money and training to terrorists, India and Pakistan will Relationships cannot be normal.
