Rajat Sharma's Blog | Who is the boss of Maharashtra?

Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of India TV.

The way was cleared for government formation in Maharashtra. The last speed breaker is also gone. Eknath Shinde said “Sab Changla Aahe” (All is well). Shinde has recovered, his health is fine and so is his mood. Devendra Fadnavis visited ‘Varsha’ bungalow and met Eknath Shinde. All things were decided. Fadnavis will be sworn in on Thursday. Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar will take oath as Deputy CMs. Preparations are being made for the swearing in at Azad Maidan.

According to what has been decided so far, BJP will keep the Home and Revenue departments with itself. Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena will get the urban development department and Ajit Pawar will keep finance. In the formula that has been decided so far, BJP will get 21 to 22 departments, Shiv Sena will get 12 and Ajit Pawar’s NCP will get 9 to 10 departments.

A total of 70 leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and many central government ministers, Chief Ministers of NDA ruled states will attend the swearing-in ceremony on December 5. Apart from this, invitations have also been sent to more than 400 saints.

As tremendous as the victory was in Maharashtra, the delay in forming the government reduced its shine as much. Due to the tantrum shown by Shinde, those who were dejected after losing got a chance to comment. Someone said, the people of Delhi are playing the Damru and the people of Mahayuti are dancing, someone said, the wedding procession has arrived but we still don’t know who the groom is. But today all these things have become meaningless. We also found out who the groom is. It was announced who would come to the wedding procession and even the angry uncle agreed to meet.

From the point of view of political maneuvering, Ajit Pawar had come to Delhi and sat down, Shinde was also waiting for Amit Shah’s call. This needs to be understood. Shinde and Ajit Dada wanted to talk directly to Delhi. He was trying to bypass Fadnavis but he was made to understand that the responsibility of forming and running the government of Maharashtra would be handed over to Devendra Fadnavis. How many ministers will be made from each of the three parties will have to be decided after talking to Fadnavis. Shinde and Ajit Pawar will have to decide who will become ministers from Shiv Sena and NCP. But to decide who will be given which ministry, he will have to talk to Fadnavis. The big message of Mota Bhai is that now the government of Maharashtra will not be run from Delhi. Decisions will be taken in Mumbai. And Devendra Fadnavis will be given a free hand. Everyone will say, Jai Maharashtra! (Rajat Sharma)
