Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday announced seat sharing with its allies for the Jharkhand Assembly elections. According to seat distribution, BJP will contest on 68 seats, AJSU on 10, JDU on 2 and LJP-RV on 1 seat in Jharkhand. Sudesh Mahato’s All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) will contest on 10 seats – Silli, Ramgarh, Gomia, Ichaghar, Mandu, Jugsalai, Dumri, Pakur, Lohardaga and Manoharpur. While Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JDU) will contest from two seats – Tamar and Jamshedpur East, Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest from Chatra assembly seat.

Union Minister and BJP’s election in-charge in Jharkhand, Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that BJP, All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) will contest the elections together in Jharkhand. Seat sharing has also been agreed upon and the candidates will be announced soon. BJP’s Jharkhand assembly election co-in-charge and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that discussions are going on regarding seat sharing. At present, All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) will contest elections on 10 seats. Janata Dal (United) on 2 seats and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on one seat. BJP will contest the remaining seats.

Under the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections, there are more than 900 voters who are above 100 years of age and these include 533 women in the voting on 43 seats on November 13. An officer gave this information. Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20, while the results will be declared on November 23. The official said on Friday, “A total of 995 voters above 100 years of age are eligible to cast their votes in the first phase of assembly elections to be held on November 13 in the state, which includes 462 male and 533 female voters.” According to , there are a total of 2.60 crore voters in Jharkhand, out of which 1.13 lakh voters are senior citizens above 85 years of age.
