The poor, the deprived, are suffering the brunt of Manuwad under Modi's 'anti-constitutional rule': Kharge

Mallikarjun Kharge: Citing some recent incidents of crime against people from Dalit and tribal communities, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday alleged that the poor and the deprived were bearing the brunt of Manuvad under the Modi government’s “anti-constitutional rule”.

Kharge posted on X, “Home Minister Amit Shah insults Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar ji in Parliament and the same anti-deprived mentality is being repeated in BJP ruled states.”

He said, “In the last two days, a Dalit youth is murdered in police custody in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. In Balasore, Odisha, tribal women are tied to trees and beaten. In Bhiwani, Haryana, a Dalit student is denied fees for BA exam. When one gets full one is forced to commit suicide.”

He claimed that a tribal pregnant woman in Palghar, Maharashtra had to walk 100 kilometers in search of an ICU and died. According to the Congress President, three Dalit families in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh are forced to flee because they face caste-based attacks and the police remains silent. He claimed, “It is well known that under the anti-constitutional rule of the Modi government, continuous atrocities are being committed against Dalits, tribals, backward and minority classes. Those who are poor and deprived are bearing the brunt of Manuism.”

Kharge said, “A crime is committed every hour against Dalit-tribal women and children and according to the NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau), this figure has doubled since 2014.”

He said, “The Congress party will not allow the constitutional rights of 140 crore Indians to be violated and will continue to counter the anti-constitutional thinking of the BJP-RSS.”
