West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that Christmas is a festival of hope, love and unity. He wished the people on this festival. Banerjee participated in the midnight mass at the ‘Cathedral of Most Holy Rosary’ in Kolkata’s Bada Bazaar area. On this occasion, he said that Christmas removes all grudges and connects people with the feeling of unity and brotherhood.

He said, “It is a day to forgive each other, share happiness and remind ourselves that a little help can brighten someone’s world. So, let us celebrate this day with those who are alone and feel isolated. Spread the joy of Christmas to every corner. Merry Christmas to you all!”
Banerjee was also accompanied by Calcutta Archbishop Thomas D’Souza, Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar and city police commissioner Manoj Verma.
