New Delhi: Cyclonic storm Dana is rapidly moving towards Odisha and Bengal coast. According to information received from the Meteorological Department, Storm Dana is moving towards the coastal areas at a speed of 15 km per hour. At present this storm is 280 km from Paradip and 310 km from Dhamra.
Landfall between Dhamra and Bhitarkanika
The landfall of this storm will be between Dhamra and Bhitarkanika. At the time of landfall, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour. According to estimates, at the time of landfall, waves in the sea will be 2 meters higher than normal. It is being told that ‘Dana’ will also have the same impact as the cyclonic storm ‘Yas’ that occurred in the year 2021.

Meanwhile, the administrative staff is also on full alert mode regarding cyclone ‘Dana’. The Indian Coast Guard has also been put on high alert. The Coast Guard is closely monitoring the situation and proactive steps have been taken to ensure preparedness to deal with any emergency arising out of the impact of the cyclone.
Coast Guard also took charge
The Coast Guard is tasked with disseminating regular weather warnings and safety advisories to fishermen and sailors to ships, aircraft and remote operating stations in West Bengal and Odisha. These alerts are being continuously sent to all fishing vessels, urging them to immediately return to shore and seek safe shelter.
Flights closed at Bhubaneswar airport
