Against Team India during ODI World Cup 2011
Mega auction is to be conducted for IPL 2025. Recently all 10 teams have announced the names of their retained players. Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals team has already started strengthening its preparations. Delhi Capitals has appointed a player who has won the World Cup for India as the new bowling coach of the team. These players also bowled amazingly in their career. This player is none other than Munaf Patel. Heman Badani was made the new head coach of the team last month. Badani would like to make full use of Munaf Patel’s experience this season.
Munaf Patel’s career has been brilliant
Munaf Patel is currently 41 years old and has achieved many big achievements during his career. He has played cricket in all three formats for Team India. Munaf Patel has won the ODI World Cup title in the year 2011. During his international career, he has taken 35 wickets in 13 Test matches, 86 wickets in 70 ODI matches and 4 wickets in three T20 Internationals. Munaf Patel has played for three teams in IPL. Which includes the names of Rajasthan Royals (2008-10), Mumbai Indians (2011-13) and Gujarat Lions (2017). He has taken 74 wickets in 63 IPL matches.
Delhi disappointed in IPL 2024
Delhi Capitals team had a very disappointing performance in IPL 2024. Where they won only 7 out of 14 matches. Due to which his team could not even reach the playoffs. The franchise sacked head coach Ricky Ponting and his staff in July and replaced him with former Indian cricketer Hemang Badani. Even in IPL retention, this time Delhi team has released its captain Rishabh Pant. In such a situation, the Delhi team wants to make a new beginning.
