New rule regarding foreign players in IPL.

The 18th season of the Indian Premier League is to be played in the year 2025, but before that a mega player auction will be organized, regarding which the player retention policy has been announced by the IPL Governing Council. This time some new rules have also been implemented, including one regarding foreign players, which all the franchises were demanding for a long time. In the last few years, there were many foreign players in the IPL who were participating in the auction but just before the start of the season, they refused to play. In such a situation, the franchises have to bear the loss and they also approached the IPL Governing Council regarding this. A complaint was made on which the new rule has now been implemented.

If a foreign player does not participate in the mega auction, he will not be able to play in the next season’s auction also.

If any foreign player does not register himself for the Mega Player Auction on behalf of the IPL Governing Council, he will be banned from the next year’s player auction as well. It is clear from this that it will be necessary for any foreign player to participate in the mega auction of IPL.

Refusing to play in the season will result in a 2 year ban

For the last few years, there were many players who refused to play just before the start of the season on the pretext of their workload. Now according to the new rule, if a franchise selects a player for its team at the time of auction and later that player refuses to play before the start of the season, then in that case that player will be banned from IPL for 2 years. Will be banned from playing. Along with this, that player will also not be able to give his name for the player auction.
