The 4-match T20I series in Durban is going to start from today i.e. 8th November in which there will be a clash between hosts South Africa and India. After losing the final of the T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa will be looking to avenge its heart-breaking defeat against the world champion team India for the first time. At the same time, the Indian team will be eyeing to start its campaign with a win at home in South Africa. In such a situation, there can be a tremendous competition between the two teams in the first T20I match. In this match, two players of the Indian team will also be seen competing against each other.
Actually, both Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh are part of the Indian team on the South Africa tour. In the very first match, both the players will try to defeat each other. Both the players are equal in terms of taking most wickets in T20I. Hardik has taken 87 wickets in 105 matches whereas Arshdeep has achieved the feat of taking so many wickets in only 56 matches. In such a situation, both will try to outdo each other.
Records on target of Hardik and Arshdeep
Not only this, the big records of Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal will be on the target of Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh. If either of the two players does the feat of taking 4 wickets in the first match, then in one stroke the record of most wickets taken by Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be shattered. Bumrah has 89 wickets in T20I while Bhuvi has 90 wickets in his name.
There will be competition to become number-1
In this series, Hardik and Arshdeep will also have a chance to create a new record. In fact, both the players can become the Indian bowlers taking the highest wickets in T20Is during the 4-match series against South Africa. For this both will have to take 10 wickets in their kitty. Currently, the record of taking most T20I wickets for India is in the name of Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal has taken 96 wickets in his name in 80 matches. Chahal is not a part of this series. In such a situation, Hardik and Arshdeep have a great chance to become number-1. Now it will be interesting to see who among the two can achieve this milestone first.
