India whitewashed Bangladesh 2-0 in the 2-match series by winning by seven wickets on the fifth and final day of the second Test played in Kanpur. In this way, Team India further strengthened its position at the top of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points table. After Bangladesh was bundled out for 146 runs in the second innings, India was given a target of 95 runs to win, which the host team India achieved by losing 3 wickets thanks to a brilliant half-century by Yashasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi Jaiswal played an inning of 51 runs in just 45 balls with the help of 8 fours and 1 six. In this way the young Indian opening batsman made a big record in Test cricket.

Actually, Yashasvi Jaiswal had scored an amazing half-century in the first innings also. Jaiswal had played a brilliant inning of 72 runs in 51 balls with the help of 12 fours and 1 six and now created a new history by scoring a quick half-century in the second innings. Jaiswal has become the second Indian cricketer who has achieved the great feat of scoring half-centuries in both the innings of a Test match at a strike rate of more than 100. Earlier in the history of Indian Test cricket, only Virender Sehwag had been able to do this feat.
