It is very rare to see a person’s life in danger and an enemy comes and saves him. This is possible in films but is rarely seen in real life. Something similar was seen in Australia, when the life of a great cricketer was in danger. This cricketer’s life was in danger when his former Australian rival came and saved him. No one would have known about this incident if the veteran cricketer had not shared a post about this incident on social media.

Actually, England’s legendary cricketer of his time, Ian Botham, is currently in Australia. He fell into a river full of crocodiles in the Northern Territory of Australia a few days ago. After this he was saved by a person who was once his rival on the cricket field. He is none other than his former Australian rival Merv Hughes. Ian Botham has expressed his gratitude to Merv Hughes on social media for saving his life.

This is how Ian Botham’s life was saved

Ian Botham said the incident happened last week, when he went fishing with Hughes and some of his friends during a four-day trip. According to a report, while changing boats in the Moyle River, 200 km south-west of Darwin, Botham’s slippers got stuck on a rope and he fell into the river. Former Australian fast bowler Hughes immediately acted swiftly and along with some fellow fishermen pulled Botham out of the water. Botham also suffered injuries when he hit the side of the boat while being pulled out of the water.

While posting his photos on Instagram on Friday, Botham wrote that he was about to become the morsel of the day for crocodiles and bull sharks but his colleagues quickly pulled him out of the water. He expresses his gratitude to them for this. Botham is currently in Australia to commentate in the five-Test series between India and Australia starting on November 22.
