Actually, Virat Kohli will have a chance to achieve a big milestone at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. If he manages to score 129 runs in the second Test, he will complete 9000 runs in Test cricket. He will be only the fourth Indian batsman to do so. Before this, only Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have managed to touch this figure.
Kohli targets Sachin’s record
Not only this, in the second test, Virat Kohli will also be eyeing to break Sachin Tendulkar’s big record in international cricket. He is just 35 runs away from this record. If he succeeds in doing so, he will become the first cricketer in the world to score 27 thousand runs in less than 600 innings in international cricket. Currently, the record of scoring the fastest 27 thousand runs is in the name of Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved this feat in 623 innings. Kohli has 26965 runs in 593 innings. So far, only three batsmen from all over the world have been able to score 27 thousand runs in international cricket. These include Sachin Tendulkar, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting.
Don Bradman’s record in danger
Kohli will also have a chance to leave Don Bradman behind in the Kanpur Test. If Kohli manages to score a century in the first Test match, he will leave Bradman behind in terms of scoring centuries in Test cricket. Bradman has 29 centuries in Tests. By scoring a century, Kohli will score 30 centuries in Tests. Kohli will also break Sachin Tendulkar’s big record by catching 3 catches in the second Test. Sachin Tendulkar has 115 catches in Tests while Virat has taken 113 catches. Apart from this, Kohli will complete his 1000 fours in Tests by hitting 7 fours.
