Samsung India The employees have finally decided to end the strike and return to work. Around 1100 out of total 1750 employees of Samsung India are on strike since September 9 for various demands. Apart from increase in employee salaries, better working environment, registration of newly formed Samsung India Workers Union supported by ‘CITU’ by Labor Department was included. Tamil Nadu government shared information
Giving information in this matter, the Tamil Nadu government said that the employees of Samsung India Electronics Limited decided to call off the indefinite strike that had been going on for more than a month on Tuesday. Employees have agreed to return to work. The strike at the Korean Electronics Company factory in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, has ended and all employees will return to work, the state government said in a statement.
Samsung India employees will return to work soon
The decision to call off the strike was taken in a conciliation meeting held at the Labor Welfare Department office on Tuesday, which was attended by representatives of Samsung India and the striking employees. “All the employees involved in the strike will end their agitation and will immediately return to work,” a government release said. The management will not harass the employees for participating in the protest upon returning to work.
Company will not take action against the agitators
Samsung India spokesperson said, “Samsung India welcomes CITU’s decision to call off the illegal strike. We thank the Government of Tamil Nadu for its support and welcome our employees who have decided to return to work unconditionally. We will not take any action against those employees who merely participated in this illegal strike.
