The festive season sale that started last month is going to continue till Diwali. Many major incidents of fraud are also coming to light during this sale. Scammers are taking advantage of small carelessness of customers and scamming them.

Many customers ordering goods from e-commerce platforms have complained about fake delivery. Instead of the ordered goods, empty boxes or something else has been delivered to the customers. Scammers are especially playing this game with smartphones or electronics items. Scammers have especially defrauded customers by ordering phones from Flipkart. Flipkart offers open box delivery to its customers on purchasing smartphones. Hackers are defrauding customers even after taking open box delivery.
For example, if you have ordered a phone from Flipkart and have chosen open delivery, then a fake delivery agent will come to you and deliver the product to you and go away. During this time, if you do not make a video of the open delivery of the product, you may have to suffer huge losses. If the scammers come to know that you are going to make an open delivery video, then they will go away with some excuse and the actual delivery agent will come and deliver your product. Some users have posted such incidents on social media platforms.

Recently, some users have complained that they get products from Amazon in the name of cash on delivery. After payment, wrong product is being received. Not only this, many users have also complained that no order has been placed by them, yet Amazon’s delivery agents have arrived at their homes to deliver the goods. Scammers especially target those users who have an elderly person living at their home.
How to avoid?
If you also come across such fake delivery agents, then you need to be alert. While ordering goods online from Flipkart, you have to choose open box delivery. At the same time, if wrong goods are delivered from Amazon, you will have to immediately contact the customer care of the e-commerce website and lodge your complaint. If you have not ordered any goods and still the delivery agents come to deliver the goods, then clearly refuse to take the product from them and report it.
