A clinic in Siliguri, West Bengal refused to treat Bangladeshi patients. A poster was put up outside the clinic in which it was written that Bangladeshi citizens would be able to enter only after saluting the Indian tricolor. The doctor said that why should those who cannot respect India be treated in India? Apart from this, hotels and restaurants in Barak Valley of Assam refused entry to Bangladeshi citizens. Baburao, President of Barak Valley Hotel and Restaurant Association, said that we will boycott Bangladeshis until the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh do not stop.
Dhakai Jamdani sarees from Bangladesh were set on fire by protesters outside the Salt Lake International Bus Terminal near Kolkata. The protesters called for a boycott of Bangladeshi goods and warned that Indians would not remain silent if the insult to the tricolor and attacks on Hindus continued. A protester said that we condemn the continuous targeting of Hindus in Bangladesh and hate-motivated statements against India.
