Many leaders have played an important role in strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra. Out of which the name of Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde is prominently taken. Haribhau Bagde, who was associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh since childhood, reached the Assembly for the first time in 1985 on a party ticket. After this, he has been MLA 5 times from Phulambari seat of Aurangabad region. While being an MLA, Bagde has greatly benefited the people of the area through many government schemes. Seeing his service spirit, BJP has rewarded him by making him the Governor. He has been appointed the new Governor of Rajasthan in 2024.
Former Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde has joined BJP from RSS. Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde was born on 17 August 1945 in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra. He was born in a Maratha family in Phulambari town and became a politician. He studied at Saraswati Bhawan School Pipariraja, Aurangabad. He has studied only till class 10.
Joined RSS at the age of just 13
Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at the age of just 13. Haribhau was first elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from BJP in 1985 from Aurangabad East seat. He became MLA from Phulambari assembly seat five times. Phulambari assembly falls in Aurangabad district only. He is so popular among the people that he is called Nana.
Have sold newspapers door to door
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau was born in extreme poverty. His father was a small farmer. To support his family, he sold newspapers door-to-door in Phulambari, Aurangabad for many years. He loves farming so much that his family name is Krishi Yoga.
Became Assembly Speaker in BJP’s first government
Haribhau won the 2014 MLA election from Phulambari constituency against Kalyan Kale of the Indian National Congress. He also won the 2019 assembly elections from the same constituency. When BJP formed its first government in Maharashtra in 2014, he was appointed the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He has also been a former cabinet minister in the Government of Maharashtra.
Bagde became MLA for the first time in 1985
Bagde was elected MLA for the first time in 1985. He represented Phulambari assembly constituency five times. He became the Minister for Employment Guarantee Scheme when the Shiv Sena-BJP government came to power in 1995 and was made the Assembly Speaker in 2014 after Fadnavis took over as Chief Minister. Bagde said that he was the first member of his family to receive formal education. His family was associated with social work. He wanted to do a job, but his RSS mentor told him to take up farming. Farming became a lifelong passion for Bagde.
