Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday said that if the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance comes to power, people will get seven kg of ration under the Public Distribution System (PDS) instead of the current five. Soren said the JMM-led alliance will also increase the pension amount. Soren alleged that during the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule in Jharkhand, 11 lakh ration cards and three lakh pensions were cancelled, due to which many tribals and Dalits died of hunger.
Soren posted on social media platform He said, “If our government is formed again in Jharkhand, then instead of five kg of food grains, seven kg of food grains will be given per person in the public distribution system.” Pension will also be increased.” The Chief Minister said that under the Maiya Samman Yojana, Rs 2500 per month will be given to the children and egg or fruit will be given per day to the children in the mid-day meal in Anganwadi centres. Voting for the assembly elections in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.
