The Supreme Court on Tuesday, November 5, has upheld the constitutional validity of the Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Act, 2004 and along with this, the Supreme Court has rejected the decision of the Allahabad High Court. In its decision, the Supreme Court said that the High Court It was a mistake to declare this law unconstitutional. Let us tell you that the Allahabad High Court had rejected this law this year, calling it unconstitutional. The High Court had ordered the UP government to enroll students studying in madrassas in regular schools. The Supreme Court had stayed this order.
Now after the decision of the Supreme Court, Muslim religious leaders and opposition parties on Tuesday welcomed and appreciated the decision of the Supreme Court upholding the validity of the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board Act. Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, senior member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, said that now with the decision of the Supreme Court, madrassas can run with complete freedom.
Madrassas gave many IAS and IPS to the country
He said, “How can a law made by the government be unconstitutional? Thousands of people are associated with these madrassas and they have got a big relief from the Supreme Court’s decision. Now we can run our madrassas with complete freedom.” Meanwhile, All India Shia Personal Law Board spokesperson Maulana Yasoob Abbas said that madrassas have given many IAS and IPS officers to the country.
Madrasas played an important role in independence
“If any madrassa is going on the wrong path, action should be taken against it but all madrassas should not be viewed with suspicion,” Abbas told PTI. He said that we welcome the way the Supreme Court has found this law right and justified. Madrassas have played an important role in the independence of the country. Madrassas have given us many IAS, IPS, ministers and governors. It is wrong to look at madrassas from this perspective.”
Maulana Kab Rashidi of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind said that the Supreme Court’s decision has given a very big message. He said, “This is a very big message. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind welcomes it.”
