"One country, one election" But Brijbhushan Sharan Singh's reaction came, made big allegations on Congress

Brijbhushan Sharan Singh spoke on ‘one country, one election’

Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and former WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, while giving a statement on ‘One Nation One Election’, said that after independence, elections have been held simultaneously in the country. But later it was removed. He also said that Congress misused Article 356 the most and many elected governments were toppled. Brij Bhushan supported the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government and said that this decision has been taken in the interest of the country. Frequent elections hinder development work and cause losses to the country.

Related bills will be presented in Lok Sabha on 6 December

The Central Government will present two bills related to One Country, One Election in the Lok Sabha on December 16. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will introduce the Constitution Amendment Bill and the Union Territory Laws (Amendment) Bill. The Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had approved these bills on December 12. One bill pertains to simultaneous holding of elections to the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, while the other bill pertains to the elections to the Union Territories.

Let us tell you that to pass the Constitution Amendment Bill, two-thirds majority will be required, while for the second bill, simple majority will be required in the House. Although a high-level committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind had proposed holding municipal and panchayat elections in a phased manner along with the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections, the Cabinet has decided to stay away from the issue of local body elections for the time being.
