Sources claim, Devendra Fadnavis will remain Maharashtra CM for full 5 years, Shinde can become Deputy CM.
After giving a massive victory to the BJP led alliance in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the stir for the post of Chief Minister has now intensified. Interestingly, Eknath Shinde tendered his resignation from the post of CM on Tuesday morning. Now it is believed that Devendra Fadnavis can become the next Chief Minister of the state. However, Shinde has also not given up his claim. In the elections, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance won a landslide victory on 235 seats in the 288-member assembly.

According to sources, there are two scenarios that are being worked on. In the first scenario, Eknath Shinde will be the Deputy Chief Minister under Devendra Fadnavis for the full five years. And there will be no rotation in two and a half years. Just as Fadnavis worked as the Deputy Chief Minister for two and a half years, similarly Eknath Shinde will also remain in the government as the Deputy Chief Minister to the CM. According to sources, there is a possibility that Shinde may be given the Ministry of Urban Development i.e. PWD, which is a very big ministry. Schemes like Samriddhi Mahamarg are the contribution of this ministry.
There is also speculation that Ajit Pawar may be given the Finance Ministry and he will also remain the DY CM. With Devendra Fadnavis taking charge, the Home Ministry will remain with the BJP. And the second scenario which is being created in the political air is that Eknath Shinde’s close associates Uday Samant, Shambhuraje Desai or Deepak Kesarkar can become Deputy Chief Minister in the coming time and Eknath Shinde can go to New Delhi. In the recent assembly elections, BJP won 132 seats, while its allies Shiv Sena and NCP won 57 and 41 seats respectively. Many smaller organizations are also part of the alliance.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Shiv Sena leader Shambhuraj Desai said that being a Shiv Sainik, he believes that the party’s main leader Eknath Shinde should get the CM post. He said who will lead our Mahayuti and who will be the CM face of the Mahayuti – our three leaders Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar will sit together and discuss it. Whatever decision he takes, it will be accepted by all the MLAs of Mahayuti and the same decision will be implemented.
