Clarifying on P Chidambaram’s tweet, CLP leader O Ibobi Singh said the statement given by the RS MP on ‘X’ was on his own ‘X’ page and it was his personal opinion. Ibobi said, when we saw his post, I also spoke to party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Emphasized that this statement may be Chidambaram’s personal opinion but it may create a lot of misunderstanding in the state.
Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram had to delete his tweet related to Manipur amid heavy criticism. Kharge wrote a letter to the President
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu urging him to immediately intervene in the matter of Manipur so that the safety of life and property of the people of the state can be ensured. He also accused the Central and State governments of completely failing to stop the violence and restore normalcy and claimed that the people of the state have now lost faith in both the governments. After violence once again occurred in Manipur, Kharge has written this two-page letter to the President. He said that the country has suffered an exceptionally grave tragedy. Over 300 people, including women and children, have lost their lives due to the unprecedented turmoil in Manipur over the last 18 months. The tragedy has left nearly one lakh people internally displaced. The suffering of the people continues. He claimed that due to the inaction of the Central and State governments, there is complete anarchy in Manipur, rule of law has ended and human rights have been violated.
