When BJP goes, jobs will come... Akhilesh Yadav's taunt on Yogi government's decision amid UPPSC controversy
The standoff between competitive exam aspirants and the Uttar Pradesh Public Service ended on Thursday when the Chief Minister took cognizance of the demands and announced that the exams will be conducted in a single shift in a day. Currently this announcement is related to Provincial Civil Services (PCS) preliminary examination, a committee will be formed for RO/ARO (Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer) preliminary examination. Since Monday, candidates for these exams were protesting with the argument that different shifts would mean different question papers, which in turn would benefit students who got easier questions.

After this announcement of Yogi government, Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe. Akhilesh wrote on Twitter that as soon as the BJP government understood the electoral mathematics and saw its defeat, it retreated but its pride got in the way, that is why it is only accepting half the demand. He again said that the candidates will win. These are the intelligent youth of today, the government cannot arrest them. When one exam can be done then why not the other. Defeat in elections is the real cure for BJP. When BJP goes, ‘jobs’ will come.
Amidst the ongoing stir over paper schedule, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has agreed to conduct the PCS Preliminary Exam 2024 in a single shift. Acknowledging the demands of the candidates, UPPSC on Thursday postponed the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) exams and announced to conduct the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) preliminary exam on the old pattern. This decision has come after considering the requests of the students who have been protesting for the last three days.

Sources said that a committee has been formed to look into the modalities of RO/ARO examination. The Commission will soon issue a separate notice regarding changes in both the examinations. Although UPPSC has not given any clarification on the exam date, Prayagraj DM Ravindra Kumar said, “The date of examination (PCS) will be released soon by the Commission (UPPSC).”
