Now taking another big step, the Nitish Kumar-led government has approved investment proposals worth about Rs 30,000 crore with the aim of accelerating industrial development in the state. According to an official statement, the State Investment Promotion Board gave in-principle approval to investment proposals worth Rs 28,881.55 crore of 52 units while financial approval was given to proposals worth Rs 609.26 crore of 35 units. According to the statement, these proposals were approved in the 58th meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board.
260 proposals were approved earlier
This board has been formed to approve investment proposals in Bihar. Industries Secretary Bandana Preyasi, Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, Financial Resources Secretary Ashima Jain and Director in the Industries Department Alok Ranjan Ghosh and other officials were present in the meeting. Earlier in the current financial year, a total of 260 proposals have been given in-principle approval while 161 proposals have been given financial approval. The government is continuously trying to encourage investment in the state. The Industries Department recently successfully organized a Food Processing Investment Meet and Entrepreneur Panchayat. Apart from this, the amount of first and second installment was also distributed to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana and Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana respectively.
‘Bihar Business Connect’ organized on 19-20 December
With the aim of attracting investment in Bihar, the state government is organizing the investor conference ‘Bihar Business Connect’ for the second time on 19-20 December in Patna. It aims to provide investors with information on key initiatives, new policies, and investment-friendly environment implemented in Bihar in recent years. Partners from 80 countries are expected to participate in it. Giving this information, a state government official said that Union Ministers, Secretaries of Central Ministries and major industry associations will participate in this two-day event. An official said that last year 3,000 people had registered on the BBC website and this year the target has been set for 5,000 and so far invitations have been sent to the embassies of 82 countries. “Along with Union ministers, secretaries of central ministries will also be invited,” the official said. Apart from this, all the major industry associations of the country are also being invited to participate in it. The first road show of ‘Bihar Business Connect’ 2024 was organized in Kolkata in early July this year. State Industries and Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra has conducted several road shows across the country to promote this investor conference and attract investments in the state.
